Ingredients

Caramel Sauce

  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup water

Banana Fritters

  • 4 ripe bananas
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 cup flour

Instructions

Caramel Syrup

  • For the caramel syrup, simply add the brown sugar and water to a pot over medium low heat and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Banana Fritters

  • In a medium-sized bowl, add the bananas and mash with a fork until liquidy. Add the brown sugar, baking powder, salt, and flour and give it a good whisk until smooth.
  • Heat oil in a deep fryer to 375F. Carefully drop spoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil—taking care not to splash! Fry each fritter until golden, about 1½ mins, flip over and fry the other side, another 1½ mins.
  • Transfer to a cooling rack. While the fritters are still warm, drop into the prepared caramel sauce and allow to soak.
  • Enjoy warm!
