Thick and Creamy Chai
My mother's recipe for the perfect cup of chai blends together the richness of cardamom, cloves, cinnamon, and ginger brewed into a thickened milk tea.
- ΒΌ cup water
- 3 cardamom
- 3 cloves
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 2 tsp grated ginger
- 3 tsp tea leaves
- 2 cups whole milk
- sugar to taste
In a medium-sized saucepan over medium heat, boil the water, spices, and tea leaves. Then add the milk and allow to cook until it reaches a full boil, reduce the fire and simmer for about 5 minutes. Keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn't boil over.
When it reaches a warm brown, remove from the stove and strain out the pieces. Add your preferred amount of sugar and serve warm!
