Prep Time 30 minutes
Rest Time 1 hour 15 minutes
Total Time 1 hour 45 minutes
Servings 6 parathas

Ingredients

Paratha Burger

  • 4 cups All-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 3 tbsp ghee
  • ¾ cup milk
  • ½ cup water or as needed

Assembly

  • 1 paratha
  • 1 beef patty
  • 1 slice cheese
  • 1 tsp toum sauce

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, combine the flour, salt, sugar, ghee, milk, and water and mix until a ball forms. You can add more water as needed until the dough is smooth and soft to the touch. Cover and allow to rest for about an hour.
  • Once rested, divide the dough into six and form into balls. Brush with ghee and cover with plastic wrap and a towel to rest for an additional 15 minutes.
  • Place a dough ball onto a large baking mat and roll out as thin as possible. Start off with a rolling pin and then stretch it out with your hands. Brush with ghee and then sprinkle with flour.
  • Make a cut starting from the center and then carefully fold it into a cone, place your finger (or any object) in the middle of your cone so you don't lose the spot! Once your cone is completed, fold it outward into a flat disc about 1/2" thick.
  • Over medium high heat, add your pan and add 1/2 tablespoon of ghee. Pan fry the paratha until golden brown, about 1-2 minutes on each side.
  • Remove from heat and cut in half horizontally. Add your beef patty, cheese, and toum sauce and enjoy!
