Toasted Vanilla Syrup

Imagine the comforting aroma of a campfire, with toasted marshmallows golden and gooey, all captured in a bottle. That’s exactly what you’re in for with this homemade toasted syrup! It’s a unique treat that takes the familiar sweetness of syrup and elevates it with a delightful, toasty twist.

 

Let’s make some syrup!

In a medium saucepan over medium-high heat, add one cup of sugar and heat until melted. Be sure to keep stirring until it turns golden brown.

Add warm water to the pot, be careful as the caramelized sugar is hot it will bubble and rise before deflating. Give it a stir and remove from heat. Add in the vanilla extract and store in a jar, it will keep in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.

Perfect for drizzling over pancakes, waffles, or even just spooning straight from the jar, this syrup brings a nostalgic, warm flavor to your breakfast table.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions
 

  • Add the sugar to a pot and heat until melted and turned golden brown. Add warm water to the pot, be careful as the caramelized sugar is hot it will bubble and rise before deflating. Give it a stir and remove from heat.
  • Add in the vanilla extract and store in a jar, it will keep in the fridge for up to 2 weeks. Use it in your favorite drinks for some extra flavor or a light drizzle on your pancakes!
