Let’s make dinner!
In a large saucepan over medium-high heat, add the olive oil and minced garlic. Saute until golden brown. Add in the pasta sauce, heavy cream, spices, and salt to taste. Cook until it reaches a slight boil.
Reduce flame to low and add in the pasta water, chocolate, yogurt and shredded cheese of your choice, I ran out of parmesan so I used cheddar. Mix until combined. Toss boiled pasta with sauce and serve immediately.
Garnish with fresh basil and shredded cheese! Enjoy!

Creamy Penne Pasta
The secret ingredient to this rich and creamy penne pasta bursting with flavor? A little bit of dark chocolate goes a long way!
Ingredients
- ¼ cup olive oil
- 2 tbsp minced garlic
- ⅔ cup Italian pasta sauce
- 1½ cup heavy cream
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1 tsp parsley flakes
- 1 tsp chopped chives
- 1 tsp thyme leaves
- 1 tsp italian seasoning
- ½ tsp black pepper
- salt to taste
- ½ cup pasta water
- ¼ oz dark chocolate
- 1 cup shredded cheese
- 2 tbsp yogurt
- 1 lb box boiled Barilla penne
