Soy Calamari and Butter Pasta

Tender calamari cooked to perfection, their delicate flavor enhanced by a light, soy glaze and paired with a creamy butter pasta, this dish is absolutely irresistible.

I swear I know how to make things other than pasta, it’s just my favorite kind of meal and I’m always experimenting so why not share it with you? I promise I’m going to try my hand at biryani soon though, you can definitely look forward to that!

But today’s dinner is a tender calamari enveloped in a smoky soy glaze paired with a smooth buttery pasta— it’s 100% a meal I’m going to be making nonstop for the next few months.

Let’s get started!

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook pasta until al dente according to package directions. Drain and set aside.

Make the calamari by thawing 2 steaks in warm water, once soft, cut into thin strips. Add the calamari to a bowl, followed by the grated ginger, ground pepper, soy sauce, sweet teriyaki sauce, and fish sauce. Mix to combine.

Place a medium-sized skillet over medium-high heat, add the olive oil. Once heated, add the calamari and cook for about 5 minutes or until the pieces have shrunk a bit. Remove from heat.

Add the warm pasta to a bowl, followed by the butter, grated parmesan, parsley, thyme, oregano, basil, salt, black pepper, and chili powder. Stir to combine with a wooden spoon. If needed, add a splash of heavy cream.

Serve yourself a plate of the pasta and spoon a good amount of calamari on top. Enjoy!
