Made with canned tuna, sweet onions, and ripe tomatoes, they’re kicked up a notch with fresh cilantro, jalapeño, and a smoky twist from my favorite Kinders Woodfired Garlic Seasoning (seriously I use this on everything, it’s becoming a bad addiction). A blend of cumin, chili powder, and a hint of turmeric gives them a warm, savory depth, while a squeeze of lemon juice adds the slightest burst of tanginess.
Perfection really.
Let’s get started!
Drain the water from a tuna can and squeeze out any excess with a paper towel. In a mixing bowl, add the tuna, onion, tomato, cilantro, jalapeño, cumin, chili powder, kinder’s garlic seasoning, salt, turmeric, and lemon juice.
Mix until well combined. Using your hands to combine it really helps in bringing out the flavor, trust me. Then add in the egg and mix until it comes together.
Form 2 flat patties, if they fall apart, mix in some breadcrumbs to help them stay in shape.
Drizzle some olive oil on a skillet over medium high heat. Transfer the patties and cook until golden brown, about 5 minutes on each side. Remove from heat.
Assemble your burger and enjoy!
