Brown Sugar Pineapple Boats

Sweet or savory, these pineapple slices are the perfect addition to any meal! Whether you pair it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a decadent treat or serve it as a side for your dinner party, they are sure to steal the spotlight!

These pineapple boats are super easy to throw together and look as good as they taste! The sweetness of the pineapple, mixed with warm spices like cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg, all softened with a little butter and brown sugar—honestly, it’s like a dream come true.

The best part is that this works perfect for when you’re craving something sweet or if you need one final side dish for your fancy dinner! Seriously, you can’t go wrong with this!

Let’s get started!

Preheat the oven to 350F.

Do NOT cut off the crown. Cut the pineapple in to quarters lengthwise. Using a sharp knife, carefully cut the hard pineapple core off from each quarter and discard. Make about 9-10 cuts on each pineapple quarter, making each piece a little less than ½” thick.

Run the knife between the flesh and the pineapple skin until the pieces come loose. Slide the pieces in opposite directions. Transfer to a baking sheet and set aside.

In a small saucepan, add the melted butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, clove powder, nutmeg powder, and salt. Cook on low heat for about 5 minutes or until the sugar has dissolved and everything is combined. Brush about a third of the brown sugar mixture on to the pineapple pieces.

Bake for 5 minutes. Brush half of the remaining brown sugar mixture on to the pineapple pieces and return to the oven for another 5 minutes. Brush the remaining brown sugar mixture on to the pineapple pieces and bake for the final 5 minutes. (A total of 15 minutes).

Remove from the oven and serve warm!
